Ann Ziker named executive director of The Brown Foundation of Houston
HOUSTON – February 23, 2018 – The Brown Foundation of Houston announced today the appointment of Ann Ziker, Ph.D. as executive director. She will join the family foundation in late March 2018.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ann to the Foundation and look forward to her strategic leadership in furthering our philanthropic efforts,” said Will Mathis, board chair of The Brown Foundation of Houston.
Ann brings to the foundation proven leadership skills and a passion for Houston. She joins the foundation from YES Prep Public Schools, where she held multiple roles including chief advancement officer and interim executive director. Previously, Ann was a consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Houston office and served private and social sector clients on a variety of strategic and organizational issues. She began her career as a social studies teacher in the Fort Bend Independent School District. Ann earned her undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Rice University. She and her husband, Ben, have two children.
Ann steps into the role previously held by Nancy Pittman, who retired in December 2017 and served as executive director of The Brown Foundation of Houston for 20 years. “Nancy had a wonderful, positive impact over the span of her 20 years at the foundation, and we wish her well in her retirement,” said Isabel Stude Lummis, president of The Brown Foundation of Houston.
Pam Brasseux, who has been serving as interim executive director, returns to her role as interim chief grants officer.
